Moving from traditional iron sights to a red dot optic on your firearm can be challenging without proper guidance. This course is designed to help shooters confidently make that transition by focusing on proper mounting, zeroing, and overall familiarity with pistol-mounted red dot optics. Throughout the class, we will cover key concepts such as mechanical offset, target-focused shooting, eye dominance, and other essential fundamentals that will improve your performance.By the end of this one-day course, you will have a solid understanding of red dot usage and feel significantly more confident and dialed in when running a red dot on your pistol.

Prerequisites:

Optics (Red dot must be zeroed prior to class)

Must have experience drawing from the holster

Must be familiar and be able to demonstrate the 4 firearm safety rules.

Equipment and Materials Required:

  • Ammunition: 400 rounds
  • Semi-auto pistol
  • Holster (NO leather,nylon holsters, or soft holsters)
  • OWB OR AIWB 
  • 2-3 Magazines
  • The ability to carry one spare mag ( sidecar, neomag, belt mounted mag carrier)
  • Eye and ear protection (electronic recommended)
  • Appropriate range attire (no open toe shoes or low-cut shirts)
  • Hat is highly recommended
  • Lunch, snacks and Water
  • Pen & paper if you wish to take notes, taking notes on your phone is fine too
